Country Cup

The Districts are coordinating dates for the 2020 Country Cup!   Watch this space for updates and competition information.

The NHDLGA & HRDGA worked together to hold the New Country Cup at Kurri GC on Monday 21 October in fine & warm conditions.  A total of 68 players, chosen by their clubs to represent their District, contested a very competitive 4BBB v Stableford format.   The aggregate of the best ball of two person teams from each District determined the winner.  Despite the small number of clubs in the HRDGA, they packed a mighty punch to take out the trophy this year with a total 672 points compared to 647 points from the NHDLGA team.

Congratulations to the HRDGA and thank you to all players for their enthusiasm.   Everyone represented your Clubs and District well!  NHDLGA look forward to the opportunity in 2020 to seek our revenge when the HRDGA host the event.

In 2019 NHDLGA and HRDGA met to discuss introducing a modified Country Cup competition between the two Districts.  It was decided the event will be held beginning in 2019 with competition sites alternating between the two Districts.

The 2019  Country Cup was held in October at Kurri.  The selected format was a 4BBB stableford two-person team event with a team from NHDLGA playing with/against the HRDGA team.   Each District entered 17, 2 player teams (34 players) and the aggregate of the Best Ball scores determined the County Cup winner.
