The 5th Annual NewCoast Cup was held at Newcastle Golf Club on Sunday 1st December, 2024. This year it was decided to play a session of 18hole scratch single matchplay only with no foursomes matchplay.
Congratulations goes to CCWGA for their very decisive win of 8 – 4. Our team put up a good fight and three of our players lost on the 18th hole, so congratulations for the big effort given by all players.
We had a good mix of players from various district clubs and included Chloe Pearce (Charlestown), Dom Kelly (Merewether), Catherine Coates (Pacific Dunes), Jane MacDonald (Newcastle), Jill Blenkey (Newcastle), Helen Hayes (Hawks Nest), Katrina Skinner-Oyston (Maitland), Kiana Toole (Belmont), Melissa Beavis (Maitland), Jenny Frost (Nelson Bay), Deb Plummer (Waratah) and Bronwyn Smith (Tanilba Bay). Reserves were Jennie Bellamy & Nok Griffiths from Newcastle.
Newcastle Golf Club was an excellent venue so thank you to the club for allowing us to host the event and the players commented favourably on the course condition. A big thanks goes to Jenny Thompson for her assistance in running this event.
The NewCoast Cup brings together the best players from NHDLGA against the best players from CCWGA and is a very special event that allows the top players of our district to compete together as a team.
